Couple of Worlds Updates

Couple of interesting things happening today with regards to Worlds entries.

First off, it looks like Joannie Rochette has withdrawn; she has disappeared from the ISU competitor list, to be replaced by Myriane Samson. Honestly, I'm not surprised to see this. It's sad, but I think it's a good idea for Joannie to take some time out. I am also looking forward to seeing Samson skate because I've heard some good things about her. A team of Phaneuf and Samson does potentially jeopardise Canada's two spots for next year, though.

The next thing is something I am desperately hoping is not true. Rumour has it that Ryan Bradley has broken his ankle and can't compete in Turin. He is still on the list, so it appears that he has not officially withdrawn yet, but I imagine it's just a matter of time. Even if he did somehow manage to get there, he is obviously never going to be able to skate his best on an injured ankle. Poor guy. All this would mean that Brandon Mroz will go in his place, which makes a US team of Abbott, Rippon and Mroz. I am seriously in a million depressions for Ryan.

Both Volosozhar/Morosov and Domnina/Shabalin are still on the list. Surely Maxim can't be planning to compete again on that knee of his?

EDIT: Apparently, it turns out that Ryan has broken one of the bones in his foot, but he has said that he will be in Turin, which is fantastic news - hopefully his foot holds out! V/M and D/S have now both been removed from the roster.
