I missed the Italian pair, Berton/Hotarek, but I am going to need to catch that on youtube at some point because they're currently sitting in eleventh place and apparently have a lot of potential.
Tiny Russian princess and her partner - i.e Bazarova/Larionov - were mostly fantastic, except for their SBS 3T, which was not at all in sync. She looks like she weighs absolutely nothing at all when he lifts her, I can't wait to see what they come up with over the coming seasons.
There was some very strange music going on at this point, with disco-Carmen followed by an Addams Family tango. I thought things were looking up when the little Estonians came out, because I love them, but then they had something of a disaster, and in the end, they didn't qualify for the FS, which is depressing for them, and also for me, because I like their West Side Story.
The next group was great on all counts, with James/Bonheur, Morand/Dorsaz and Denney/Barrett all laying it down. I really love Firebird, and the Swiss' Queen just makes me laugh. D/B had all their spark back, which is good, because they just looked a little off in Vancouver.I liked the Chinese girl's dress. It was a pretty colour. The program...wasn't.
I love, love, love Evora/Ladwig's music! I also kind of love the simplicity of their outfits. They have had an absolute dream season this year and I am so happy for them. Hopefully they can top it all off with another great skate in the free.
I may or may not support Langlois/Hay just because she shares my name. Either way, I love the colour of their outfits and I think they are both adorable. They had a great start, but then she fell on the throw triple lutz, which is a shame. Other than that, it was a nice program, but not what they wanted.
Beautiful program for S/S, but Robin doubled and they had an error on their sbs spin. I love Aliona though, she looks like she has a great attitude. Robin gave a very sad little interview to Eurosport afterwards, I felt really sorry for him. They have just not had a good season this year.
Kemp/King did kind of badly and Stacey in particular looked devastated afterwards. They just made the FS.
The Zhangs started off strong but seemed to lose speed and energy towards the end. I do like her new hair though. I was kind of glad to see them go into 2nd, but the Eurosport commentators were beyond confused and seemed to think that the judges had 'taken leave of their minds'. I just do not find them interesting.
On the other hand, I think I am in love with Sasha Smirnov. He and Yuko were fantastic, and definitely interesting and her shoulder didn't even pop out once. Like I think I have said before, anyone that wears a tiara during their program is a winner in my eyes. She was like an adorable little doll in the KnC, but for some reason she looked devastated when their scores came up. Not sure why that is, they were miles ahead of S/S.Lovely skate from M/T, too. It's kind of sad to think that this is one of the last times we'll see them skate together. Maria looks like she has been on the fake tan a little too hard, although it did make her dress stand out a little more. I have to wonder what will happen to her next season, if Maxim goes to skate with Tatiana V. Not quite sure why they went in under S/S, but it was almost worth it to see Max's hilariously sulky reaction. I'd love to see them get bronze, actually.
Pang/Tong were good, as ever. I do prefer K/S but I assume P/T are better technically. I have no knowledge of these things. Like the Zhangs, they just don't really interest me. They did capture me in their free in Vancouver, though, so I'll see what they do tomorrow.
Dubé/Davison were not on it at all tonight. She fell on the SBS 3S and then they had a strange little slip. I couldn't tell exactly what happened, because of the camera angle; it kind of looked like he just kicked her, but I assume he didn't. Anyway, neither of them looked really very into it after that, and they went into eighth, just ahead of Evora/Ladwig, who I actually would have had them behind.
Tomorrow is the men's short and the pairs long. I don't know if my nerves will even cope with that.
